How many of you as therapists or parents make your own therapy stuff, such as home programs, class programs, templates, rubrics, activities, teacher inservices, etc. Have you ever thought to yourself, I’m sure this has been done before, but now I have to do it again?

I started the Therapy Fun Zone blog back when I started in a new therapy environment that had no established tools available to me, such as eval template, home/class programs, worksheets, and activities. I had a lot of experience as a therapist, but had always had access to the tools I needed before I started in the new setting. Since I had trouble finding the tools that I needed, I decided to start the Therapy Fun Zone blog to share what I came up with, and to make it easier to find things.

So after several years of adding activities and working on things, I took the next step and added a website system that makes it so you can join me and add things that you have created. The system is a full shopping cart where other therapists (you) can open their own store and add their own products while having the benefit of people searching for many products there. I have gone through several systems trying to find one that is affordable and does what it is supposed to do, and I think that I have the right combination of systems in place now.

I have a vision that therapists can go to My Therapy Shop and find a great variety of therapy resources that were created by other therapists, both free resources and ones that can be bought. I feel like there are lots of therapists out there that have great products and they are working on distributing them on their own. Since I get a good amount of traffic to Therapy Fun Zone, I figure it could be beneficial to all of the therapists for both finding resources, and sharing resources and products.

Any items that you upload must be your own work, and you can not be violating someone else’s copyright.

So, now you know my vision for the future. Come on over to My Therapy Shop, set up an account, and apply to be a seller. It is free to sign up and set up a store. There is a paid tier that you can earn a higher percentage of your sales for a small yearly cost. Who is in?

(Keep in mind that this is in its baby stage, and there might still be bugs.) I have been testing it for a couple of months. Let me know if you run into any problems.

Some other details:

When you open your own shop on My Therapy Shop, it is like selling your product (digital or physical) wholesale to Therapy Fun Zone. You will need to keep track of your own business expenses and claim your sales income on your taxes. You will get paid monthly for the sales that you make, and you will make a profit of 60% when on the free tier. For the paid tier, you will make a profit of 80% of the sales that you make.

It is simple to apply for a sellers account, and you don’t have to have your own website, but it doesn’t hurt if you do either. You just sign up for an account in the shop, and during the sign up process, you check the box that says that you want to be a seller.
