Finding your letters on a keyboard

I have several kids who are working on being able to write their personal information, and are struggling to find the letters on the keyboard. I wanted them to work on finding the letters of their name, but wanted to start off of the keyboard, so I made a paper and velcro keyboard for them.

I first organized the letters on paper in the order that a typical keyboard is (QWERTY). I printed out two of these, and after laminating, put one side of the velcro on the top of on set and the other side of the velcro on the bottom of one set. Then I cut out the letters that will be stuck on top. In order to make it easier to start to find specific letters, I got a suggestion to make a set of letters that are a bright color, so i made a bright yellow letter set.

Now we can practice finding letters of the name and place the letters in order on a velcro strip.

You can download the keyboard file in the community.
